The required diploma for all students in Indiana is the Core40 Diploma. However, there are four types of Diplomas in Indiana. Below are the requirements for each.
Please keep in mind that school districts can add to the basic 40 credits. Check your local district for their specific requirements.
General Diploma - Student's and their parent/guardian must go through a formal opt-out process in order to opt-out of the Core40 diploma. Criteria for students to opt-out are: an ECA score in the 25th percentile or lower, or receiving failing grades in three courses required for Core40. Core 40, Academic Honors, Technical Honors - All three diplomas have the Core40 as their basis. The basic courses are listed in the table.
